Vincent Silverman, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Silverman was born in Los Angeles and raised in Bakersfield, Ca. Although no one in his family had a medical background or much interest in animals, he was interested in becoming a veterinarian since the age of twelve. After high school, Dr. Silverman attended UCLA before transferring to UC Davis to pursue his dream of attending vet school. While at Davis, he completed a BS in Animal Science, a MS in Animal Science/Nutrition and then graduated from vet school with his DVM degree. He took the equine track his senior year in vet school and moved to Norco following graduation, and accepted a position with Norco Equine Hospital. After several years Dr. Silverman went out on his own and established Silverman Equine Veterinary Service which he worked full time for 30 years. Although he still practices in the equine field on a limited basis, fifteen years ago he became a staff veterinarian for Avid microchip company, a position he holds to this day. He looks forward to growing more as the Medical Director of Animal Care Services.
While the past years saw Dr. Silverman riding and showing horses and mules and packing into wilderness environments, fly fishing, sailing and rebuilding sailboats takes up what free time he may have now. He currently lives in Riverside with his wife, Robin.
